I’m Christie, a dedicated sandwich eater/maker, but I like to branch out. I spend inordinate amounts of time riding my bike and engaging in other outdoorsy pursuits. This means I’m often hungry. Fortunately, I also like to spend inordinate amounts of time in the kitchen, puttering around.
Due to an embarrassing lack of self-control around desserts, I usually try to make tiny ones. Desserts, I mean, tiny desserts. You know, single-serving pies, little cakes for two, small batches of cookies… Conversely, I like to make giant batches of other, more wholesome things. Huge pots of soup and trays and pans of savory dinner-y things. Keeps my sweet tooth in check.
When I’m not cooking, I’m teaching, or biking, or reading, or petting my dogs, or hiking with them, or cursing at them, or sometimes sewing or gardening.
